A Letter From Empowered Latina Women from Area 2

Somos un grupo de mujeres madres y activistas en el área 2 que apoyamos la candidatura de Celeste Winders para la mesa directiva del distrito escolar.
Creemos que Celeste es la persona perfecta para representarnos y formar parte de la mesa directiva por que ella es una persona justa.
Ella le gusta luchar por los derechos de los estudiantes y de la comunidad y muchas necesidades que por ahora hay en las escuelas con los alumnos y con los maestros también.
Nosotros nos gustaría que ella sea parte de la mesa directiva del distrito escolar porque queremos ver un cambio real en las escuelas.
Es muy triste ver tantas necesidades en los alumnos que en lugar de ayudarlos los ignoran.
Por ejemplo es muy desagradable ver que una familia esté esperando por un IEP (Programa de Educación Individualizada) para sus hijos y tengan que esperar muchos meses para esa prueba y mientras tanto sus hijos se retrasan más en sus clases.
No entendemos porque tarda tanto una respuesta del distrito escolar para ayudar a un alumno teniendo los recursos necesarios y el dinero para poder ayudar a nuestros hijos.
Con Celeste dentro de la mesa directiva muchas familias así como nosotros estaríamos muy contentos de que se apoye y ayude a los alumnos y a los maestros maestros tambien para que proporcionen la ayuda necesaria a los alumnos. Sería hermoso ver que nuestros hijos están felices en sus escuelas tomando clases y se les esté cubriendo las necesidades que ellos requieren.
El distrito escolar necesita un cambio ya, y con Celeste Winders el cambio será muy positivo a favor de las escuelas, alumnos y maestros.
Ella siempre estará dispuesta a escuchar opiniones y a hacer cambios positivos para crear una comunidad llena de alegria y menos problemas de salud mental en todos los alumnos de los planteles escolares ya que ella no le gusta imponer, ella trabaja en los problemas y trata de buscar la solución para que las personas estén bien. Necesitamos una persona que cuide el bienestar de las escuelas, los alumnos y los maestros.
Los menos afortunados necesitamos un gran apoyo fuerte, constante y estamos seguras que Celeste hará un cambio muy positivo y muy bueno para nuestros alumnos, maestros y para la comunidad.

We are a group of women mothers and activists in School District Area 2 who support the candidacy of Celeste Winders for School Board Trustee.
We believe Celeste is the perfect person to represent us and be part of the Board because she is fair, compassionate, and focuses on equity and justice issues for students, teachers, and the community. We support her because see the need for real change in the schools.
It is very sad to see our students have so many needs and many of them remain unaddressed. For example, why is a family waiting months for an IEP (Individualized Education Program) for their children, meanwhile their children fall farther behind in their classes.
We do not understand why it takes so long for a response from the school district to help a student? Where are the necessary resources and monies to be able to help our children?
Many of our families would be very happy to have Celeste as Trustee and for her support to work with teachers to provide the necessary support to our students.
It would be beautiful to see our children happy in their schools taking classes and their needs being met.
The school district needs change now, and with Celeste Winders the change will be positive for all. She is always willing to listen, to make positive changes, and to address mental health problems that are very concerning to us. We see Celeste working collaboratively and looking for the solutions we need.
We want a person on the Board who represents us and who cares for the welfare of schools, students, and teachers. Those of us less fortunate need support and we are sure that Celeste will provide that support and attention.
